Community Service Programs
of the Mid-Atlantic District Exchange Clubs
Activities that make up Exchange Clubs' programs of service have a common goal to make our communities better. Our Community Service programs focus on broader areas of our towns and cities. These programs include:
Book of Golden Deeds Award
Volunteer efforts are very important to our society and do not go unnoticed with The Book of Golden Deeds Award. This heartfelt honor recognizes dedicated volunteers who give so much of their time to their communities.
Crime & Fire Prevention
Since its inception in the 1940s, Exchange Club's Crime & Fire Prevention program has been endorsed by nearly every U.S. President, and many of the nation’s leading law enforcement officials.
Services to Seniors
As the significant segment of older Americans in our society continues to grow, so will the need for programs which aid these citizens and enable them to lead full, productive lives. Exchange Club rises to the occassion to ensure our seniors are able to enjoy an excellent quality of life.
The Vial of Life
The Vial of Life program involves distributing plastic vials such as those that carry prescription medicine, but with a significant difference. These vials each contain a medical information sheet and are placed inside the owner's refrigerator. A "Vial of Life" sticker is affixed on the front door or window of the home so that if and when emergency personnel arrive, they see the sticker and know that important information concerning the individual’s medical condition, prescriptions and allergies can be found in the refrigerator.
